Re: question for you all...

It's true, we don't have the chocolate M&M like smarties! i used to get them in canada. We have tart sugary smarties, but they are nothing like the chocolate ones.

Re: question for you all...

I can get imported chocolate Smarties (and Flake and Fruit Pastilles and others I'm not remembering) at the Irish store near me, but they aren't found at regular stores like Target or the deli.

No way Smarties are no way near as good as M&M''s, even if they come in a tube. No way.

Re: question for you all...

Since I come from Europe I thought all smarties were chocolate when I first moved to the US.

Then I found out I had to ask for M&Ms. Chat Icon

Re: question for you all...

Yes there are smarties here and they are chocolate. We also have m&ms. I like them both, but the shell is different on the smarties- harder-like. I would rather have a nice cadbury instead- much better here than in the US. Chat Icon

Re: question for you all...

I loved the chocolate Smarties as a kid in Ireland.

The only place you can get them here is in the irish import shops.

I had no idea there was another candy called Smarties!
I loved the American kind as a kid.

For those of you that like the harder shell, have you tried Hershey's kKssables? They are kiss-shaped, but tiny & candy coated. They have a thicker , sweeter coating than M & Ms.

No, kissables just aren't as good as Smarties. Chat Icon I haven't had Smarties in years, but we used to pick them up in Canada when I was in college near the border.
