Question For Your Ladies About A Bill I Recieved From My In Vitro Procedure back in January...UPDATE

Hi Ladies,

Has anyone gone to East Coast Fertility and ever get a bill that says you ower $450 for a facfee facility fee(as they worded it?) My insurance should have covered everything and I have to wait til they reopen tomm since the bill came yesterday to inquire but what would this mean> It was from the actual day of my retrieval where my Dr. already got paid over 4,000 from GHI. I don't get what this $450 facfee charge that I SUPPOSEDLY owe is.

Thanks

UPDATE**

So I talked to someone in billing. She said "didn't anyone explain to you back then about this facility fee? I said definitiely not and in any event, I have a secondary insurance. She said, ok. You know whay, WE WILL JUST OVER-WRITE IT. I was shocked and got her name and said thank you!

Not from EC, but I got it too. If you have NYC GHI, with blue cross for hospital, the hospital benefit doesnt cover anything IF related even though the medical does. So you have to pay the hospital/facility fee OOP.

At North Shore I had to pay a $1200 facility fee for the use of the area where they did the retrieval.

I have the NYC GHI insurance and the hospitalization is empire blue cross which doesn't cover the fee.

Thanks ladies for answering my post. Humm..this is interesting to me because what does my hospital coverage--Blue Cross have to do with tihs procedure since it was done at East Coast..not a hospital?

Additionally, I have a secondary insurance, my husband's. It's CIGNA for both medical and hospital so in any event they should have sent this to them as well which they didn't so I guess I need to call them and get an itemized bill to send CIGNA in hope they cover it.
