Question if you have plates and cups in your tv room

Do you bring everything into the kitchen and make multiple trips or do you use a tray to make just one trip?

Bizarre question, I know, but after watching He's Just Not Into You the other night and seeing Jennifer Aniston using this tray to collect cups, I thought "How smart!"

I pile as much as I can on top of the plates and carry it into the kitchen. DH does the same. We usually clear the table in one trip (each). A lot of nights, we will prepare our plates in the kitchen and bring just plates into the living room to eat.

To set the table, I'm usually in and out because I'm waiting for everything to finish up anyway.

When we have a BBQ, I put as much as possible into a Trader Joe's reusable bag to bring downstairs. I hate going up and down the stairs a dozen times.

We actually bought a tray for this very reason! I bought one that I thought was pretty, of course, but we definitely use it to take things down to the den...
