Re: Question on charting and basal thermometer
Does the chart have boxes or lines for each successive temperature? Then you circle the corresponding temp.
I like to use the charts on fertility friend verses the paper charts. I found that I can see the pattern better.
Yes, orally. Make sure you take it the SAME time every day the second you wake up. Even when I'm off from work I set my alarm for 5 am so my temps are consistent.

Re: Question on charting and basal thermometer
Why dont you try charting online, its really easy and its free and you can share your chart with people if you have questions or need opinions or whatever. www.fertilityfriend.com is free, I use them.
Yes, take your temp orally - you dont have to do it any other way. And I agree - take it at the same time every morning (even wk ends), set your alarm if you have to. If you drink alcohol the night before, the alcohol will make your temp rise so you might want to disregard that temp.
Good luck!

Re: Question on charting and basal thermometer
thank you!!!! Yes I am using the fertility friend chart now , b/c the paper one from cvs is very confusing and strange. Ok good I thought so orally, I read in one article that you do it vaginally- I was like ehhhh , if thats how you do it Im sticking to just the OPK then! same time every morning- ok, no prob. last night I woke up at 5 am took temp , then went back to sleep and took again at 8 am the time I figure I would take it everyday. at 5 am it was 96.59, at 8 am it was 96.96 so which one do I go by? I didnt go to bed till around 130 am so either way the temps are only about from 3 hours of sleep. thanks for your help, you guys are the BEST!

Re: Question on charting and basal thermometer
I only just started temping, but I believe your temp rises as you are awake. There are a few days I wake up before my alarm clock and take my temps then (timing can vary 1/2 hour by the day). It may mess up my charting though. I would stick with your first temp of the day. If you have an off day, just go back to the regular time the next day

Re: Question on charting and basal thermometer
thanks this is my first time doing a chart and taking temps. i tried the old fashioned way and that got me nowhere! I tried 1 month the OPK and that I got frustrated with too - but I am really going to do this. thanks again!
