Question on # of follies? ER this week.

Hi ladies,
I havent had a chance to provide an update as ive been soo busy with work and exahusted. I am on my 10th day of stimming and im bloated and exhausted. i have had terrible headaches every day as well i think from the lupron. im on 75 units of menopur and 200 follistm. Went in for a sono agaion today and it looks like i will be triggering either tonight or tom and ER either wed or thurs. i only have 11 follies, the biggest one as of yesterday was 17 forgot to ask waht the size was today. is 11 a good number? i know its quality over quantity but when i find out i have to say i was a litte bummed and keep thinking what if its not enough. i just want this to over already.
Also what would determine and when do they let you know if i will have a 3 or 5 day transfer?

11 follies is a great number. Remember they always find more when they are in there for the retrieval. Sorry about the headaches, just make sure you are drinking plenty of water. As for day 3 or day 5, it depends on how many fertilize and how they are doing. It also depends on the clinic. Your doctor will call you the day after retrieval and speak to you about it. thanks, i guess i just see all these stories of ladies with like 20 follies and i got a little discouraged. The dr did say they played it safe with me and didnt give me a high dose of meds and if i were to have to do this again they would be a little more aggresive. i dont know if it was bc i ovulate on my own and have no known issues..not sure.

We are stimming twins!! Im on day 9 today and have had a headache for 5 days straight now!!! I go back in tomorrow for monitoring, since I started the antagon today...11 is a great number!!!

Just because one has more does not mean better. I had 24 retreived (and many more little ones that could not be retrieved) and developed a horrible case of OHSS. Good luck to you!! 11 is a great number!

I just got the call, i have to go back tomorrow morning for blood and sono but i do not have to take my meds tonight and assuming i will be triggering tom night and have my ER for thurs.

11 is a great number. When you have too many, there is a chance of getting hyper stimulated also quality could be compromised. Lots of luck for your retrieval and transfer!

i think 11 is a nice number.
i had 18 retrieved and somehow all of them were mature and fertilized. but the day before my ER i had over 30 follies. i developed OHSS both after the ER and again after my BFP.
