Question Re: Baby Poo?
I just changed my 5wks olds diaper and then she went again and i changed her and found the some of the poo was darkish green and mucousy (sorry if TMI). She is BFed and its usually just a mustardy yellow liquidy. Is the green normal or is it a sign shes sick? She seems happy.

Re: Question Re: Baby Poo?
Seeing green poos every so often is totally normal!- I'm impressed it took 5 weeks for you to see it!!
Usually green means the BM went through her system too quickly, and that means she had too much foremilk/less hindmilk.
If you begin to see more green poos than yellow, then you might want to talk to your Dr. or a LC about an overabundance of foremilk.
I found that keeping her on one side until that breast was drained usually helped (no switching back and forth). Also, I would pump out the other breast.
If you notice that you are engorged before a feeding, pump out an ounce or 2 before feeding your baby- this way you can be guaranteed that she gets some hindmilk.
