Question re: cycle and fertility monitors...
Okay, so DH and I have been trying haphazardly TTC because I had major gynelogical surgery in May and the doctor wanted me to wait to heal. My cycles are also all sorts of wacked out (sometimes over 50 days in length) so i have taken a very "if it happens, it happens" approach, but knowing that it probably would not happen.
AF actually decided to come and visit under 40 days since last time. AF came yesterday. So was yesterday CD1??? I want to try to start monitoring my cycles more intently now that i have a place to start. Does that make sense?
Also, because my cycles are crazy and my gyn. doesn't think I am ovulating from both sides, she said, it make a take a month or 2 before i see a smiley. has any one used those monitors to track? i think that might be cheaper for me in the long run than the OPK's. Does anyone have a brand to recommend?
TIA

Re: Dumb question...
Hi
Yes, the first day of actual flow = CD1
I don't use a monitor, but I've been trying OPK's the past few months in addition to charting my temps and I actually don't really like them. They confuse me more!

Re: Dumb question...
Yes, the first day of AF (not including spotting) is CD1.
I have never used a monitor so I can't answer that second part.

Re: Question re: cycle and fertility monitors...
i also use the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor and it is very easy and accurate and you can use First Morning Urine which for me is much better, everyone says you have to hold your urine for 3 hours in the evening before using the OPKs I could never do that Also it might take a month or two to figure out your cycle so if you get one don't get discouraged if the first few months seem crazy Also i bought mine on ebay for like half the price so look there first if you plan on getting one

Re: Question re: cycle and fertility monitors...
I use the Clear Blue Easy Digital Ovulation Predictor and the Clear Blue Easy Monitor. I purchased the Monitor on Ebay. It is so much cheaper than in the stores. I think it has been very accurate. I get the ovulation pains around the same time i see the little egg sign.
