Question Re: Flying w/ DS
Okay. I did a search and can't find the answer to my specific question...
DS will be 11 wks old on Tuesday, and is pushing 14 lbs! We are flying to visit my mom Sept 5 (DS will be 17 wks and 1 day). We booked him a seat, just incase, and will bring his car seat.
Now, the potential exists that he will have outgrown his infant car seat, which is fine, but I anticipated buying the snap n go, as it'll be easier to get around w/, but that is for infant car seats only.
I wanted to make it easier to get around, but how?!?!
TIA!!
ETA: Do I just check a stroller? But then how to I get around w/ the car seat??

Re: Question Re: Flying w/ DS
I thought DD would be out of her infant seat too by August when we have our trip. She was at 16 pds though and almost 6 months old when I had this concern.
They do slow down in weight gain as they get older. I highly doubt he will be out of his infant seat by Sept. There is practically NO WAY he could gain 8 pds by then.
So I wouldn't worry- bring the click and go and infant seat right up to the gate and you will be ready to go.

Re: Question Re: Flying w/ DS
DS is 12 weeks and we are going away next week, we didn't buy him a seat...we are going to gate check the car seat if there isn't a free seat.

Re: Question Re: Flying w/ DS
You can check your click and go stroller at the gate once you remove the car seat. Then you pick it up when you get off the plane at the entrance. Its awesome!

THanks! I know it's nearly impossible he'll outgrow his infant car seat! I'm a planner and want to have my bases covered!

Its smart to do that! But in this case, you DEFINATELY have it all covered. Have a great trip!
Oh, and when going through security, make sure the handle on the carseat is all the way back and that the wheels face up on the click and go- otherwise they don't fit through the Xray- That's a whole mess too.

Re: Question Re: Flying w/ DS
I would stick with the infant seat- it's so much easier to maneuver around the airport, strap into the airplane seat & use with the snap & go. Your DS will not outgrow it by September. Our DD was (& still is) in the 95 percentile and we used that thing until she was 8 months (stopped carrying it around, just used it as the carseat). FYI- your DS will have to be in the window seat on the airplane, as per airline rules.
