question re: showing your house UPDATE
update: Well, even though we could have stayed (thanks for the responses) we all piled in the car at 7:45 this morning and decided to get breakfast out. We got bagels and ate in the car since my daughter was sick. At 8:30 DH went to work and I drove back home. There were no cars so I assumed that everyone had left.
After I had gotten both kids in the house (in the RAIN), and helped Buca down from the back of the car, and brought ALL the dog's stuff inside....THREE cars pull up in front of my house. I must have looked dumbfounded....lol. I was like..."uh....are you here to see the house? I thought it was supposed to be 8:00am?" Yes, but they were running late. They kinda acted like I shouldn't be there.
So, I had to get everything back into the car again. Plus the dog tracked muddy paw prints inside the house, and I left her bowls and food out, but at that point I was seeing red and I didn't give a crap anymore. GRRR!!
I drove around aimlessly for about 40 minutes until they finally left. They spent a lot of time outside the house looking at it, and talking...so I hope that is a good thing. I hope this is it!
**************************************************
My agent called a minute ago...someone wants to see our house tomorrow at 8:00am. I am super happy but it's a bit early...
I have two sick kids, plus a baby that I take care of...do I have to leave the house, or can I stay?
I always assumed that I had to get out, but my mom is trying to tell me otherwise. TIA!

Re: question re: showing your house
DH and I live and work in Manhattan - When we had evening appointments we were GRATEFUL the homeowners would allow us to see the home at 8 or 9 pm ....you ABSOLUTLEY DO NOT have to leave !! Especially at 8 AM !!!

Re: question re: showing your house
No you can stay. The only time I ask people to leave is during an open house. Unless the house is not lived in and completely vacant, the homeowner is usually home for private showings.

Re: question re: showing your house
All of the houses I went to see - people were home. I think it is fine - I think they expect you to be there if they are coming that early!
Good Luck!!
