Questions about closing costs
What exactly are they for?
Who do they go to?
And who figures out how much they are... is it based on anything like value of house, property, etc?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but we really aren't educated on closing costs... yet.

That's all I can think of right now!
ETA:
Expect to pay between $12,000 and $20,000 for an average LI house.

closing costs are usually estimated between 3%-6% of the agreed on sale price of the home. there's such a thing as a seller's concession on closing costs so you dont have to come out of pocket at the closing table. if you dont know what that is, FM me and i'll explain more for you.
