Quick and yummy desserts
Whats your go to quick and easy dessert. having DS' party this weekend and with 3 kids under 3 I don't have time to make elaborate desserts!! But I still want something homemade to go with the ice cream cake and cupcakes. Any ideas?

Re: Quick and yummy desserts
Dirt Cake (The consistency is like pudding)
Ingredients:
1 20 oz. Package oreo’s, crushed ½ stick butter or margerine 1 cup 10x sugar 8 oz. cream cheese 4 cups of milk 2 3 oz. packages vanilla instant pudding 12 oz. thawed cool whip
Preparation:
Cream together the butter, sugar, and cream cheese in a bowl. Mix together the milk and pudding. Combine the pudding mixture with the creamed mixture and add the 12 oz. of cool whip.
In a 7” or 8” plastic planting pot, alternate layers of oreo crumbs and pudding mixture. (Optional--add gummy worms coming out of the top). Refrigerate overnight.

do you have a LARGE plastic sheet to put on the floor?
if so, what about some fun kiddie fondue?
melt some chocolate and put in a few bowl with age appropriate cut up fruits/pretzels/pound cake?
I am sure it will be MESSY as all hell, but if you can contain the mess, I think it would be super fun!!!!

Re: Quick and yummy desserts
also, what about some strawberries and whipped cream.
For berries and cream 3 1-pint baskets strawberries, hulled, sliced 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons thinly sliced fresh mint 1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
1 cup chilled whipping cream 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine berries, 1/2 cup sugar, mint, and orange peel in medium bowl; stir to blend. Let stand at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Combine cream, vanilla, and remaining 3 tablespoons sugar in large bowl. Whisk until soft peaks form.

Ohhhhh......my DH might kill me but this sounds great! And this is totally "my thing" -- already did ice cream sundaes and decorate cup cakes at parties!! My family room is under construction sort of, I could do it on the lean totally empty side!!
