Quick Baking (Cake Mix) Question!!
Is a regular cake mix box considered "2 layer"?
And, for a cake to be eaten tomorrow at 2pm, can I make the cake now and ice it tomorrow or should I do it early tomorrow AM? Thanks!

Re: Quick Baking (Cake Mix) Question!!
Yeah the cake mix can be made into a 2 layer cake...2 8" or 9" size.
No problem making it today and icing it tomorrow. Gives it plenty of time to be cooled off. Plenty of bakeries make cakes days in advance and then ice them later.

Yes, one box will make a 2-3 layered cake (I prefer 3 layers). You can absolutely bake and ice it tonight for tomorrow!

Re: Quick Baking (Cake Mix) Question!!
TY! I bought a cupcake cake mold but this one box only fills it up half way. The directions that came with the hold say to use 1-2 layer cake mix. It's in the oven so we'll see!
