Quick cablevision question

Our year is up and our 99 bill just went up to 130. I'm on hold with them right now. Is it unreasonable to tell them FIOS just came to our town and that if they don't leave it at 99 that we are going to switch?

It's worth a shot. The worst they can do is say "Too bad". They'll probably work with you, though.

Re: Quick cablevision question

I'm on with the disconnect dept and he said Verizon is false advertising the $95 total a month for 2 years and that the bill will end up being close to $130 a month. Do you think that's true? The Verizon guy told us with taxes and all its $95 a month.Chat Icon

I think it is true, but not sure. But you can always go to Verizion and then Back to Cablevision.

Re: Quick cablevision question

It is true. The FIOS guy came by and it would end up being close to $160 a month to get all the channels I currently get with Cablevision. Plus after the 2 years their prices skyrocket. What my husband did is he told cablevision he was cancelling and when he got to the last step the guy asked him what they can do to prevent him from cancelling and he gave us DVR for free for a year and gave us something else and it ended up down to $132 that is with the silver package. Hope it works out.

Re: Quick cablevision question

We got it down from $129 to $108 for 6 months...not bad! I'll see if Verizon has anything better to offer 6 months from now. Thanks for your help!

Yes we do. We currently get $20 off per bill - I think that's the rewards.

Re: Quick cablevision question

u don't need the rewards card to save money off your bill, it is automatic...

the rewards can give you some disocunts for tech products, movie tickets, etc...

yes, fios does jump just like CV...same market, similar prices...

Re: Quick cablevision question

Lastchance aka Jeannine signed up for FIOS then a week later cancelled because the price was a little more then Cablevision. A few weeks later a guy from FIOS came over again and told her he had a really good deal, the triple play with HBO and a DVR for $80.00 plus dollars. The guys knocking on your doors are working on a commission and some will offer you a better deal if you don't act like you really want FIOS.
