Quick help with Shoe size please!
After the snow storm we got yesterday, need some snow boots for DD for the rest of the New England Winter.
She's a 4.5 now, should I get her a size 5 or size 6 in snow boots?

I'm not there yet obviously, but I'd think you should go up a size, b/c she'll probably be wearing thick socks with them, right?

I was thinking getting the 6 andThat's what i thought too, but then I thought, i remember wearing boots too big for me as a kid and they hurt my feet since they flopped around so much. But i don't want her to grow out of them before winters over. Up here we have gotten snow storms way into March.
She's such a peanut!

you're right, I remember that too (and clomping around in them, and tripping!  ) How fast do feet grow (I'm a newbie, don't forget  ) If you got the smaller size AND the larger size (just in case), would the larger still fit her next year? I'm guessing feet grow faster than that, but what do I know

I would say 5, at least for my DD she is 20 months now and their growth rate slows down a bit now so hopefully they will last. I got some at the LL Bean outlet in Orange, on boston post road in the same plaza as trader joes.

I would try for the 6 with plush socks then you might get two years out of them.

the lady at STride Rite told us a child can wear a shoe half a size up without it falling off, causing tripping, etc.
Aly has brown mary janes in a 6 and sneakers in a 6.5
