As long as the clams are cooked, I'm pretty sure you can eat them... I've eaten clams.

My doc said no to shellfish (clams, lobster, shrimp) - one serving of fish per week - remove the skin when cooking. Sorry!

Re: Quick ?...on my way to a wedding....
I say its a risk-My daughter for example loves shrimp and we went on vacation and she ate some. She got sick from either bacteria or worst case scenario the person who prepared it did not wash their hands properly. The doctor said this is always a risk when you eat shell fish and the risk is increased unless you know who is preparing the shellfish. Personal choice. I am a supporter of having someone you know cooking the shellfish though. P.S not trying to scare just showing that it can go wrong-Its a risk especially at a wedding with mass food preparation.

Honestly you run the risk of contaminated food no matter what you eat..especially when you eat something that you havent prepared..
The only thing I truly dont eat right now is anything raw...sushi, clams on the half shell etc...
Everything else is in moderation...

Re: Quick ?...on my way to a wedding....
This is my first time posting , so let me introduce myself: My name is Marie and I am almost 30 weeks pregnant. I am due at the end of September. I read Lifamilies often and I thank all of you for the sharing and also offering wonderful advice.
As far as fish is concerned I know that you are only allowed about 2 servings a week (12 oz). I researched the mercury level of fish and shellfish online and clams have little to no mercury. I would say go for it and have the baked clams.
