Quick ques...what is the std depth of a cabinet?

We already ordered our appliances, and designed the kitchen around them.

However, now we found new appliances that we loooooooooove and the depth of the dishwasher is 27", the depth of the double ovens is 28.5".

Isn't the std depth of a base cabinet 24"?

So these new appliances would be protruding right?

All built-in dishwashers should be 24-25" depth... ovens should be even smaller in depth. Which one are you getting that's 27"?

Nevermind. I must be crazy.

The depths are fine, I just checked again. I didn't even misread it with another dimension (height or width), I guess I made up the number.

DW and I love the Oiled Bronze look, but we're afraid of it looking too "dated" in 5 years. Plus, there aren't any options. They are the only brand I've seen with that color.

For anyone unfamiliar with the color, here's a sample:

I feel like it's not really a fad, per se - I haven't seen any in real life kitchens... With the brown, almond, and green appliances of the 60s and 70s, everyone had them. I think stainless will go out of style as well. I think stainless is more of a fad, you know? Meaning - it's the cool thing to get.

Oh and one more thing - I think the bottom freezers are going to go out of style too (they used to be "in" back in the day) - it stinks to me that the Oiled Bronze only comes in a bottom freezer. I don't really like them.

This is all just my opinion. Chat Icon
