Quick Thanks, Hello and Some Help Pls!
Just wanted to pop in and say hi! Thank you for all of your support, love, hugs and FMs!!! 
Here is my current dilemma...AF showed yesterday and I am out of town. I brought a pack of BCP with me in case. I can't bring myself to take them!  I'm so torn about putting those darn hormones into my body again and a year from now being exactly where I was a few months ago!!!!
What would you do???

hey, sorry to crash but i have to admit i do lurk on these boards from time to time as we will be TTC in 9 months (seems so far away, but i can't wait!) As I recall you wanted to hold off for a year, right?
If i were you I would stay off BCP till then to let your cycle regulate. That is what i personally decided to do...I was on BCP for SO long (on and off for like 7-8 years) so once I got married I ran out of my pill packs and decided not to bother refilling them, since I knew we would start TTC in a year anyway. Who knows...being off it for a year may even help your chances when TTC next time around. JMO

I would not go back on the pill. I am not one for BC pills as is, but if you plan on TTC again in the beginning of 2009 I would not want to risk throwing your body out of the wack. You could always do natural family planning since you know your body so well!

I tracked my cycle on my monthly cycles for a few years before TTC as a means to prevent pregnancy. Could you do that? Just avoid BDing or use alternate protection during that one week a month that you are fertile.....
It helped me get a great handle on my cycle and was a great tool for both avoiding and achieving pregnancy. Good luck!

I wouldn't do it. It took you some time to regulate the first time coming off the pill. I would use another form of protection instead.

Definitely don't go back on the pill.
You can use what you learned TTCing...on when to have sex & not be able to have baby. Use FAM for BC.

If it were me I wouldn't take them, but that is just me. This TTC process has made me realize things about my body, and I want to be regular and healthy from now on, no more foriegn pills if I don't have to.
This is a decision only you can make, good luck

Sounds like you have a strong feeling to NOT take them...I would go with my gut if I were you...you can always use other methods and then when you are ready, you won't have the unknown of having to let your cycle regulate when you go off BC again....

This sounds so silly but condoms are out of the question. It's just not an option for us. Gosh...that does sound silly!!!

I would stay off the pills. Use condoms or just use natural family planning until then. Or you could just bd as usual and just look at it as, "if it happens it would be a stress free blessing"

I cant tell YOU what to do but if I was in this scenario, I woul more than likely NOT go back on BCP. If youre serious about not TTC npw, then i would use other means of protection to avoid getting PG at this time. I dont think its a good idea to be off, then go on again just for a year. Youve been on these boards long enough to see how long it takes some people to become regular after BCP and how sometimes going off results in cysts and the issues those bring, etc etc etc.
Again, this is your PERSONAL decision w. your DH but since you asked for advice, mine is to stay off

eta i understand no condoms its just weird when you're married i think if i asked dh to wear one he would look at me like i was crazy but remember there are other forms of protection

ITA, I would not go back on BC. I haven't been on BC for past 7 years and for about 5 years now we only BD'd according to cycle when not to get PG....and we never used protection. It also helped me to learn my cycle very well.

I agree with everyone else Stacy - I would avoid going back on them.
I had issues with hormonal BC and so was on and off of them for almost a year before oficially TTC. I used Encare (spermicide) and the Sponge - great non-hormonal options!
Also - you are in a great position to use NFP. You can continue tracking your cycle, even temping if you want, and just abstain during the fertile times. With that method the added bonus is that by the time you are ready to TTC again, you'll know your cycle so well!

ITA! I can relate to the condom thing. I actually went off BCP last year and we didn't start TTC until this year. We just timed BD to avoid pregnancy rather than achieve. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Why don't you do the opposite of what you were doing while TTC.... try to avoid the O days /pull and pray the rest of the month ?
