Quick what to do question about play date and sickness.
My DS has a play date and his mom coming over after school today. My 11 mo old was up all night, I thought it was teething but, now she is coughing and has 101. I feel like I should call and cancel right? I don't want to expose them to her germs. But, I tend to be a germaphobe LOL so I just wanted to see what other people do in this situation. My DS is so upset that his friemd can't come and, I don't want the mom to think I am uninviting them if this isn't something most people would do. TIA!

I would cancel or at least let the mom know. My younger one has been sick A LOT this winter and we have had to cancel things for my older son. Personally, I never get upset if someone cancels if their DC is sick, I would rather that then have my kids get sick.

I would call the mom and give her a heads up. Tell her your son really wants his friend to come over, and of course they are welcome BUT your younger DC has a fever and you would completely understand if she just wants to reschedule. If you are concerned that she will think you're just trying to get out of it, then pick a firm new date on the phone with her.

I totally agree! This is what I would do.

I would definitely cancel if DD#2 was sick. I would worry that she would get DD#1's friend sick and wouldn't want to take that chance. I understand that he might be disappointed - but often if one is sick the other is probably contagious so you just never know.

I would do the same, so they have the option, hope your dc feels better!
