Or fly into LGA or Kennedy. We are going to FLA in April and ended up flying out of JFK for $200 R/T.

Have you tried looking at Jetblue? They have flights for $59.00 each way to NY. I don't know if they fly to Islip, but it might be worth saving the money and flying into JFK.

Yes, and you can take the Air train to Jamaica & the LIRR out to Suffolk if no one can pick you up & you don't want to pay for a car service.

unless you're flying SW, I have found that flying out of Islip is a lot more expensive than JFK & LGA. it never used to be that way... sad.
