Raleigh Area Questions
So the trip down is planned for April 13th.
We have mapped out a few communities in different parts of Wake County that we are going to look at. As well as some new home sites in that area.
We are staying in Morrisville.
Any recs for things to do when there is down time there?
Any places we should see that would encourage our move?
Any places to stay away from?
Is there traffic there at a particular time?
Is there smoking in public places? (I don't smoke just wondering)

Re: Raleigh Area Questions
Around Raleigh, I prefer the North side of it but that's a matter of personal preference. I also like the West side.
Smoke laws are the same. No smoking in stores, work, etc...
Traffic is everywhere. Since the area expended like crazy for the past 10 years or so, lots of houses have been built but not so much for the roads. They have widden the beltline but it does not make much difference now. The main road inside Raleigh have TONS to light signals so it will slow you down.
Places to stay away... DURHAM!!!!

Some VERY bad areas there. Higher crime. A portion is good.

Re: Raleigh Area Questions
In Charlotte you're still allowed to smoke in bars/restaurants (Outback, etc.), so I know it's not a state ban, might be different in Raleigh. Can't in offices, stores, etc.

They have a none smoking section in restaurant.
