Random - changing pad and diaper bag
Does anyone else get skeeved when you change your DC on a public changing table using your changing pad then have to put it back in your diaper bag next to their clothes and burp cloth etc.?

Re: Random - changing pad and diaper bag
very skeeved.
Honestly, I avoided changing them on those things until they were 16 months old and we were on vacation... I had no other choice in the airport/plane.
My BF works in a hospital and told me about "chucks". I bought a case and carry a few with me just in case. They are much larger than most changing pads and I can throw them out after they've been on that skeevy table
I've also been known to use 237658430 anti bacterial wipes on restaurant tables and such when out and about

The ones I've used have always had paper covers like the toliet seat covers...

Re: Random - changing pad and diaper bag
I've actually avoided using these things thus far with a few exceptions - I use either my car or stroller if I can. That said, I bring a bunch of chucks with me everywhere. I hardly ever use my diaper bag changing pad in public places for this reason.

Re: Random - changing pad and diaper bag
That used to wig me out, but then I got a diaper bag that has a separate compartment for the changing pad.
In case I use my old diaper bag that doesn't have a separate compartment, I picked this up in a different pattern:
JJ Cole Diapers and Wipes Pod
I like it a lot because then I don't have to take the whole diaper bag into the bathroom to change DS- just the little pouch.
Also, I put a disposable lap pad on the public changing table before I put down my changing pad. I also wipe mine down with clorox wipes when I get home

Re: Random - changing pad and diaper bag
I am actually very thankful for my diaper bag for that reason.... the pad is in its own pocket and folds into itself.... So when I have to.... it doesn't bother me AS MUCH as if I had to put it directly into her bag....
I have a JJ Cole.

Re: Random - changing pad and diaper bag
Yes, which is why I use the disposable ones and then just throw them out after I use them. Or if I know I'll be out for the day I'll use it for the whole day, then throw it out. But I won't put it back in my diaper bag. I'll put it in the bottom of my stroller. I thought I was one of the only ones who thought about that!
