Random MAC (makeup) fact
The guy with the mohawk at the Smithhaven counter informed me that if you return 6 empty product containers (compacts, any glass, plastic, etc), you get a free lipstick  
Why didn't I know this last month when I threw out all my old ones?!

Yup, they've been doing this for years. Save everything...except eyeliner - they won't accept that in the trade.
eta: the containers don't have to be empty either - I still had shadow and lipstick left in two of the things I exchanged.

The last Mac counter I went to (in Toronto) said they would give lip gloss or glass now instead of a lipstick too!

That's even better. I don't wear lipstick anymore. I take my free ones when I earn them, but I'm more of a gloss kinda girl.

My mom recently found out that you can get eye shadow for bringing in the 6 empty containers. I don't know if this is instead of the lipstick. She was so excited because she doesn't use their lipstick and she always uses their eye shadows.
