Random PG and parenting thoughts du jour
Some recent thoughts that I had today left me rather contemplative about this whole PG, delivery and parenting gig. I'd like to share...
I went to pick up the hat that comes with the coming home outfit we have chosen for Ed-lie:
and I thought to myself:
"Aint no way that any kid of OURS is going to have a small head that will fit in THAT hat."
And that thought led me to...
"Ain't no way that any kid of OURS is going to have a small head PERIOD and how the EFF am I going to friggin do this?"
So I sat on those thoughts for a while, took a nap and DH took me for a late dinner where we had the great misfortune of sitting behind a table of teenage girls. After about 5 minutes, I asked DH:
"Can we just ask Ed-lie to skip her teens?"
to which he replied:
"Why?"
"Because every other word out of their (the girls behind us) mouths has been 'like' and if my daughter is destined to butcher the English language, I do not want any part of it."

It's so funny you mention Edlie's head. DH has a huge head, as did my grandfather. My family has joked since we met that our babies would be all head. Sure enough, baby's head is measuring a week ahead of everything else.

DH and I both have big heads. This is why I  every time I see posts that tell me how wonderful it is to go for a drug free birth. Take one look at our noggins and you'd ask for TWO epidurals.

If it makes you feel any better, DH and I have huge heads and our DD's head was so tiny, at birth, that she had to wear preemie hats for almost a month. Now, her head is huge.

Not a chance. Then I keep thinking that my Mom did it with 4 babies over 8 pounds. Then again, she may have been unconscious during her deliveries. Thats what they did back then.

Leslie, you know how big my baby was. And he still fit into his newborn hat. (And he came home in a 6-9 month onesie) Well, he fit into it for one month, but we got to bring him home in it.
Now I wonder why we put him in a hat. It was an August afternoon. What the hell were we thinking. 
Oh geez, I'm off on a tangent again.
