Random question about cooking oil....
After you fry something, how do you dispose of the oil?? I dont want to pour it down the drain because I heard it can clog the drain pipes. I was considering flushing it but that can make an ugly oily mess in the toilet.
How else can I dispose of it?

Re: Random question about cooking oil....
I usually use old (used) paper towels and soak the oil up and dispose of it. Or, I put it into an old tuna tin, stick it in the freezer for a while to solidify it, and throw it away like that.

Re: Random question about cooking oil....
You cna also dump it in dirt, but whether or not you want to do that depends on what you were frying.

Re: Random question about cooking oil....
I put it into an empty container and when it is 1/2 full I tape up the container and than throw it out.

Re: Random question about cooking oil....
I put it in a used can (like a tuna can) wait for it cool then throw it out. I would not put it down the drain or the toilet.

Re: Random question about cooking oil....
whenever i am out of coffee i keep the cans for that purpose only.. after the oil cools down it goes in the can , once the can is pretty full , I dump it.. Pouring it down the drain WILL clog it... & Then I keep the coffe can in the cab that has the pans,, easy,,

Re: Random question about cooking oil....
I pour it down the drain...I figure if it doesn't solidify in the bottle, why would it solidify in the drain...now fat drippings on the other hand (like bacon) I would pour into a container and then toss.
