Random Question: Have you ever changed your mind...

about a politician because of a debate or conversation with your peers? Since we have all been so hot to defend our choices, and attempt to sway others, I am just wondering if anyone here has changed their mind as a result of a debate IRL or online.

So did any one ever bring information to light, or maybe introduce facts that made you research the candidates more?

Thanks.

I don't defend who my choice is until I am sure he/she is my choice for a candidate.

that said, once I make up my mind, that's it. not saying I could never be swayed, but it would have to be for a very good reason... like my choice suddenly changed their stance, etc.

eta: just wanted to add that I would never try and sway someone. having an opinion is 1 thing, trying to shove it down someone's throat is Chat Icon

I like to debate politics so I tend to talk about it often with people who like to talk about it also. I don't like to talk about it with people that disagree with me though. Chat Icon Just kiddin...kinda No, but really, I enjoy a good debate when I know what I'm talking about.

I've changed my opinion about Obama drastically- this is more because of the fact that we've been following both races very closely than because of anything that anyone said. I still don't think i'd ever vote for him because there are some key issues that i completely disagree with on, but he has become much more likeable to me.

no, becuase I'm usually one of the best informed people in the conversation.... I love to follow current events and politics.

It's extremely rare for someone to introduce novel info to me....

Usually not, but this year I was not sure which way I wanted to go and some of the conversations on here along with some of links to who you should vote for have helped to firm my opinion and also enabled me to understand some of the platforms these politicians are using.

I still won't vote for person I truly dislike, but have decided who I will vote for.
