Range listed for price on MLSLI?
We are going to look at a house this week that has a price listed from X to Y, with a $50,000 range between the two numbers. I asked the agent why the large range, and she said the buyer will entertain all offers within the range.
Now, it's been on the market a few weeks, so it's not like there is a bidding war...WHO would offer the top or even middle part of the range knowing that the buyer will entertain the bottom part?! This whole thing confuses me.
Anyone put in a bid on a house listed with a price range, and where did the buying price wind up being within the range?

Some of it may depend upon how much the buyer is willing to put down at closing as to what they would accept within the range.
Can't hurt to try!
