Rash on belly?
My 1.5 year old puggle has a rash on the skin around his belly button. There is also a small spot around his leg and armpit When I touch it he shows no discomfort and I don't think he has been licking at it.
Any ideas on what it could be? What can I put on it.

Re: Rash on belly?
Piper had a rash but it was right after he was neutered. The area near his weiner was shaven. The vet mentioned that it was either hair growing back or piper wearing the cone trying to lick at the area and the cone was scrapping the skin.
NOt sure if it is the same thing, but he was on antibiotics and the vet gave me some cleansing soap and powder. It was worst then him recuperating from the neutering.
Was your dog groomed recently?
It could also be a hot spot. I would call the vet if it gets worst.

Re: Rash on belly?
Is this the first time this has happened? He could have come in skin contact or eaten something that irritated him. I use hypoallergenic baby wipes so I don't have to give ours a bath since we're not supposed to bathe him that often. If you can bathe your dog with something mild without him getting dry skin, I'd do that. We use Epi-Soothe.
The first time it happened with Brinkley, we got something called Gentocin from the vet, it's a spray. It hasn't happened that much since, after changing his food and wiping him with the baby wipes when we know he's been outside laying on the ground. If it continues, I'd go to the vet and see if you could get some. It gets rid of the hotspots within a day or two.
