Rave about "First Time Around" Parenting Class at Good Sam!

Just thought I'd share for anyone who was thinking about the course.

DH and I went yesterday for the 9am-5pm class. It was VERY informative and we definitely feel more prepared for what to expect. The instructor, Eileen, was a SWEETHEART and not only knew her stuff, but communicated in such a way that it didn't feel like a lecture, but a conversation. We learned about the stages of labor, what to feel for, lots of great breathing techniques, drug options for pain, what to expect in the delivery room and they touched on breastfeeding and swaddling. We then went on a tour of the labor and delivery floor and the maternity ward and nursery - and got to see some "brand new" babies! Sooooooo cute... it brought tears to my eyes!

There were 9 couples in the class, so it was a perfect size.

The had wraps for lunch from Fireside Deli, including chicken salad wraps, veggie wraps and cold cuts plus salads.

You just have to bring TWO pillows (one for head and one for between the legs) and a blanket to lay on.

Hope this helps someone make a decision on whether to go (I recommend it) and what to bring/expect.

That's great to hear. I booked our class last week and we go the end of August. It's more for DH than me, but I'm sure we have a lot to learn.
