re: buying clothes in advance...baptism outfit/holiday outfit, etc

I have to buy both for DS, the baptism is on 12/2 and then I need an outfit for the Christmas pic. He is 8 weeks today, 11 1/2lbs, 21 3/4 inches.

Questions:

How do I know what size baptism outfit to buy? And how far in advance should I get it (I think I'm just getting one from BRU)

When do you take your Christmas pic/what date?

TIA!!!

When I went to pick out Lucas' baptism outift the woman at the store (in Ridgewood Queens) helped me with sizing. At the time he was 2 months and he was being baptised at 3 months. He was already weighing about 14 lbs so we got him a 6 month outfit that seemed to fit well.

You can always buy one now (just buy a little bigger) and make sure to try on one to two weeks before the event. If you want a different size you can return, right? Not sure how it works with those outfits.

We are taking Lucas to see Santa on the 17th (Nov) and maybe get his pics done that day too.

Hey Ang - where in Ridgewood did you get the outfit? My grandma lives there and I know she would love to go shopping for DD's outfit.

After the first couple of months, babies gain about a pound a month and about an inch a month.

That's usually a good indicator.

It was on Fresh Pond - there are 2 stores but I don't know the name. I'll find out.
