? re: diaper rash meds and reaction

My peds prescribed Nystatin, we didnt end up using then b/c the aveeno diaper rash cream ended up clearing it up. Well she was starting to get one and I put the nystatin on yesterday and all of a sudden she started making these weird sounds.. like as if she was starting to have an asthma attack, i wiped it off immediately and she was crying then and i calmed her down.. My dh said early that day she did the same thing with him with that cream and he washed off right away.

I let her tush rest and then the next diaper change i put the aveeno on and no complaints.

Has anyones child ever had a reaction like that too diaper rash meds?

We had no problem with the Nystatin. It was the only thing that cleared up the fungal infection.

Well it has some pretty strong ingredients, including Aluminum Hydroxide. It also has traces of citric acid and alcohols in it, so if the skin is that tender I could see it causing a reaction.
