Re-post from PG: Scheduled C/S at LIJ?

Anyone? I had my UN-planned C/S there, and have some questions about how things happen when its scheduled.

1. How long were you in recovery?
2. Was the baby with you in recovery?
3. What time did you have to be at the hospital and what time was your C/S?

Thats all the questions I have for now!

Most people are in recovery for 2 hours, but I had developed pre-clampsia after delivery so I was in it for 18 hours.

The baby leaves right after delivery with your
husband, while they finish your surgery. Then the baby goes to the nursery.

My c-section was scheduled for 7:30, but I got there at 6:15 ish. I had them at 8:06 & 8:07.

I was brought in a little later then planned. I was staring at the clock. The c-section lasted about an hour or so.
I got a quick glimpse of the baby. Then the checked on their stats. With my son they let my husband hold him until the section was over.
With the twin girls they took them to the nursery & my husband went with them. When I was wheeled out they were waiting in recovery for me. I got to hold them for about a 1/2 hour & then they took them until I was brought up. Which was about an hour or 2 later.

ok last baby was 2.5 years ago, so not sure how accurate these answers are. but here ya go.

1. i had to stay in recovery untill i gain feeling in my legs. i think it was an hour or two. not very long.

2.they brought the baby in, i held him for a minute then they take him, hes not in the recovery room with you.

3. i believe i had to be at the hospital about an hour or two before the c/s, but at the last minute they called and bumped me up. so im not sure.

that probably didnt help too much, im sorry. but i had two csecions at lij so if you have any other questions dont hesitate to ask, ill try to answer the best i can.
