Re: Taking time off work
I am due 9/7 and I don't want to take the week before due date or anything like that, just in case I go late, that will be less time I have home with baby later.
So, I was going to tell my boss I am going to start a 4 day week instead of five. I do not want to get paid - I don't want it to have anything to do with my maternity leave (still not determined) anyway, my question is how can I find out what the pay deduction is ? I am salary, should I figure out my hourly rate or just do it by day pay? some days I work 8 hours and 3 days 9 hours.

i would do it by day pay since your hours vary. I'm sure they will be able to work that figure out with you, but its good to know in advanced a round about estimate when you go talk to them.

Re: Re: Taking time off work
It totally depends on your bosses. I walked in their office with one plan and walked out with something else. I am now salary, but when I come back I will be hourly, and they gave me a $5 an hour raise to try to supplement it. So I will no longer have benefits, etc. and will work 3 days a week at an hourly rate. If we are closed, I will not get paid like I do currently. It depends on your company. If you are 4 days a week - you may still be able to keep benefits, vacation time, etc. I tried that, but I guess it benefits them more to make me hourly without the benefits, etc. Good luck!
