Re: True Blood v. Sooke Stackhouse books

so...you've seen all of the True Blood series, would you bother reading the books?

I hear the books are way better and that the HBO series does not even come close to the books. My friend gave me the entire book colletction to read.

The books are very different. The first season stayed truer to the books but the second season no way. Read the books too (especially if you like EricChat Icon )

Re: Re: True Blood v. Sooke Stackhouse books

I LOVE the books... I watch the show as well because I am curious to see how it deviates from the books (They are VERY different from each other!) I would say read em! I wasn't so much a fan of the first book but I think they got better and better as I read on.

I like them both, but prefer the books to the series. The first book is tough to get through, but then they get good.

I have to agree with the above posters...the books are so much better than the series. I totally recommend you reading them and the beauty is that there are so many (9 as of now and #10 coming in March, I believe) that it will keep your interest and won't be "over" as quickly as other series.

Definitely read the books. They are so much better than the tv show. I agree with all the PPs, the first book is the hardest to get through but the rest of them are so worth it.

I watched the series 1st and then read the books.

I like them equally. Keep in mind that they are different from the show and you probably won't be disappointed. Chat Icon

Re: Re: True Blood v. Sooke Stackhouse books

I guess I'm the odd one out - I'm reading the books now, and I prefer the show Chat Icon I'm only halfway through the second book, so maybe it'll get better, but there are a couple significant differences in events and characters, and I honestly like the show better so far.

Re: Re: True Blood v. Sooke Stackhouse books

I am on the third book. I love the series, and I am really getting into the books. They have the same ideas, but the books get more into things.

Def. read the books!
