in the Long Island Press. They are doing a 8 part series called "Our Children's Brains". This week the article is about autism and the staggering numbers they are finding, 1 in 150. But the problem with that statistic is that they only researched several states, New York was not one of them. They think the true numbers are actually 1 in 90. One mom of an autistic child made a valid point and basically said we are helping the world, but not our own children. Why isnt the President or Dept. of Education involved? Something else to think about is that there are programs, funding, therpy for autistic children while they are in school, but what about when they are older. There is nothing for them.
