reading strategies for middle school

I'm trying to develop a bunch of different reading strategies for my middle school kiddies while we're reading greek mythology, to set them up for the rest of the year.

So far, I have:

1. post its
2. dialogue journals
3. guided reading questions
4. 3-2-1 charts
5. kwl charts

I'd like to come up with at least 1-2 more to work on them with.. any ideas?

You should check out the 7 Habits of good readers.

Also, Questioning and jigsaw reading are great skills for kids to have!
