ready for this now....(glucose test)
ok so I went Friday to take the 3 hour test, I got the phone call at about 2 pm that i passed blah blah blah.... now on wed, 5 days later my dr. called me and said you know ur results were very high for the fasting and the one hour, i would like for you to go and see the speicalist.... i was like no bc the nurse called me and said i passed, he said the 2 and 3 hour were ok but ur fasting concerns me and so does the one hour, so now i have an appt, with Dr. Mastro on the 22nd for my reg specialist appt, and i said can i wait till then, no i have to go 2 times this month, so now i have to go on Monday, then my reg doc. on wed, then back to mastro on the 22nd... so i call mastro to tell them what is going on and the recpt. told me to hold to speak to him, and now he said after monday, i will most likley be seeing him every 2 weeks, and my reg doc, evry 2 weeks so this blows, anyone have this happen to them? they tell u one thing and then it is another?
sorry so long but grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr lots of grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, so i called my mom bc i am now SO DONE being preg. and she thinks they are just eating up my isurance policy, i mean yes i gained 32 pounds at 28 weeks, but my whole family gained 50-80 pounds total each time, i am only 130 when not preg. so overweight i just don't get it, i am so upset, and my dh is not home he took my brother who is turning 16 to a ranger game...... it is going to be a long night....

I'm sorry you have to go through this. I think they use every ounce of the insurance!!!

AW!!
Listen, I work in med mal and I see plently of cases of babies where the OB chooses to ignore something and it doesnt have the best result.
I KNOW it's annoying to have to go to all of these appointments and everything, but they are trying to do the best for you that they can. I know it seems like that they are just making the most of your insurance, but trust me, it is better that they make a big deal out of nothing than for them to take the risk of something being wrong because you are borderline and ignoring it.
As for the weight thing, I don't think that is an exorbant amount of weight and sometimes you loose weight at the end so it should even out in the long run.
Don't sweat it, be glad you HAVE insurance, could you imagine the nightmare of dealing with all of this without it?

I know how you feel. I have cried on more than one occasion b/c i am so sick of going to various drs or the lab....constantly! I have had high blood pressure throughout my pregnancy and it comes to the point where i am just sick of it.

Call and ask what your numbers are.
You may have a real problem, but you might just need some special diet controls

Sorry to hear that If its the same dr. mastro I have been to its a pain in the a z z to see him anyway the wait is SOOOO long. I will be there for my 12 week next friday

I don't think it's insurance - more so CYA. Which is good. You want your doctors to monitor you. I know it sucks, but having it check now is better in the long run.

can I ask who is your reg dr? My reg dr. refers to Dr. Mastro.
I see MAstro every month for the cpc on her brain , which went away but he still wants to see me, my reg dr. is Dr. Miller in East ISlip and that is who rec.me

I am so sorry to hear what you are going though. I have to go for my 3 hour test tomorrow and I already warned my husband that if I fail be ready to deal with a very unhappy pregnant girl for the next 10 weeks!!!!!

I find that kind of odd Nicole can you demand to actually see the results?
And gaining 32 pounds is not a lot.

this happened to me.
I had two "borderline" readings on my 3 hour.... I had to take my blood sugar and go on a diet- and had to go to the doctor every 2 weeks and then every week.
I know they were just being safe- which is the way you have to look at it.

thanks girls, so we will see what happens on monday, today i am trying to start to eat a little different, only water to drink and things of that sort, thanks again will let u know monday what happens!
