does it vasry from stste to state, or if i get it here is it good in say viginia?

A lot of states have reciprocity, not New York...if you get it here, you can't take it to another state and practice there...generally you have to live and work where you practice.
You can search for Broker, Reciprocity on google and it will tell you the states, or go to the Attorney General websites for the different states.

this is not true. as a licensed NYS realtor you have reciprocity with CERTAIN states but not all. they are: arkansas, colorado, connecticut, georgia, massachusetts, missiissippi, nebraska, oklahoma, pennsylvania, and west virginia.
