Re: really dumb qeustion about OV
Is today the first day of a positive opk ?? In other words, did you use an opk yesterday ?
The opk can be detecting the surge for the first time and you can ovulate in 12-36 hours...or you can be detecting it on the way out and there is a possibility you already ovulated.
It depends on the opks you are using... and how much did your temp went up ?
However, to answer your question simply, a positive opk 'usually' means you will be ovulating in 12-36 hours later.

Re: really dumb qeustion about OV
I'm really confused...today is the third day I tested and I only got a faint line, but Mon & Tues my temps were 97.5 and today its 98.4
Is the dip in temp meain I'm OVing or the subsequent rise in temp mean I'm OVing?
I am using internet cheapies that haven't expired

Re: really dumb qeustion about OV
A faint line meaning it was faintly darker than the control line ?
A rise in temp usually means that ovulation has occurred. However, the rise needs to stay elevated for at least 3 days to confirm ovulation. If you didn't sleep well, or woke up, went back to sleep and then temped,...your temp could be higher than normal due to that.
I would definitely bd ....and see what happens with my temps in the days that follow. If the temp dips again...tomorrow, then I would say ovulation hasn't yet occurred.

Re: really dumb qeustion about OV
The line was definitely fainter than the reference line - we'll be bd'ing anyway

Re: really dumb qeustion about OV
If it's fainter than the reference line than that's not a positive opk. Opks are not like hpts.
The line has to be the same color or darker...than the reference to be a positive opk
