Really dumb ?s about Coconut Water

So I keep seeing Coconut water all over.

Why? What are the benefits? What does it taste like? Regular water or coconut?

I love coconut anything so I'm curious.

The chocolate flavored of the Zico brand is actually pretty good. I've been hearing for years that coconut water is a good recovery drink after running long distances. It's becoming more popular now.

I do not like the taste of coconut water at all!

But is very hydrating, has a high level of potassium, I've heard it referred to as "nature's gatorade"

I LOVE coconut water and recently have been obsessed with it. It is definitely an acquired taste. It doesn't taste like coconut milk or anything made with coconut milk or flakes, so you cannot drink it thinking that, otherwise it is a disappointment.

BUT with that in mind, drinking it ice cold is excellent. In the islands they serve it to you straight from the coconut warm and it is gross.
It is like natures gatorade as it is all natural and has 5 different electrolytes.

I love the taste. It brings me back to the beach in DR when a guy shimmied up a palm tree 5 stories high and cut me open a coconut with his machete. I drank it right out of the coco and ate the jelly and was in heaven.

You must drink it cold or else it tastes nasty! (Unless you're on a beach, then its ok lol) It has a lot of potassium, low in calories (compared to other drinks with sugar) and its waay better for you than gatorade. I love it with mango or pineapple.

I am a hot yoga fan and this is a BIG thing with that.

I've tried it once and thought it was completely gross.

Not saying I would know from personal experience but it kind of reminds me of what semen would taste like.

I tried the plain kind though and everyone says the flavoreds are much better.

Eh, I will just keep my water thank you.

I LOVE young coconut water at Thai restaurants.. but I really despise the stuff they sell in the stores. I don't know why it tastes different to me .. but it does. And despite the fact that everyone says it gives you all this energy, I don't feel different at all after drinking it. I prefer Red Bull (it tastes like azz too.. but at least it revs your engine!)

I'm going to be the odd ball, but I LOVE the Zico Coconut Water (only plain though). I buy them at Whole Foods and drink one on the way home usually at room temperature.

It's SOOO good for you! If you google it you'll find tons of info on it. It's also great for pregnant women, it helps with nausea and temperature regulation. I'm not the biggest fan of the taste, but I drink it. I add it to smoothies so I get the benefits without having to taste it.

Unfortunately the ones you get the store are pretty bad compared to the real tender coconut water.. it has a naturally sweet, has a coolness to it, and is very refereshing. I have tried quite a few brands, and all of them have added sugar and other concoctions.. so I pass on it always.

ive heard its supposed to rehydrate you- my one brother in law drinks it after he has a few drinks, the other one drinks it after work (construction)

i agree with previous people- it tastes Horrible
