Really REALLY TMI Post
Please forgive me for this post but I figured you ladies might be able to help me... I think I might have known why my 2nd pregnancy took so long to happen and I was wondering if this happens to anyone else..
It seems that after *ahem* everything sorta just " falls" right out of me. Even if I lay with my butt propped up for 10-15 minutes.. as soon as I stand up it just all comes out...
I always felt this is why I got pregnant right away with the IUI.. cause its the help I needed... Is there a trick or a reason why this happens to me?
So sorry if this is to personal a question..didnt mean to offend anyone.. but I know once I start TTC again..I need to figure out how to get those spermies to swim swim swim!!!

Re: Really REALLY TMI Post
this happens to me too. No offense taken. I have been lying down for about 10 minutes and sometimes it does come out, sometimes nothing does. I don't know..is there a way to prevent it other than lying there?

Re: Really REALLY TMI Post
Not TMI, not for me at least :)
The first month we tried, I felt like the same thing happened. I ended up having a pad handy for afterwards, and would sleep that way overnight and come morning...whatever was left didn't come out. I wouldn't get up during the night. I'd even sometimes have DH go get me the pad, he knew the deal, lol. It worked for me, unfortunately ended in m/c, but it did work! I think its normal and you shouldn't worry about it.

Thats actually a good idea with the pad, this way they have a chance to get back in there if they wanted too I guess.. But once sperm is out of the body doesnt it just die?

Re: Really REALLY TMI Post
It really doesn't matter how much leaks out because there isn't any way to stop it. Using PreSeed will also help as it's very sperm friendly lubericant and the little guys need that to swim up through the cervix. Have you had a post - colitis (sp) test? That could be a reason you had trouble with the second.

Re: Really REALLY TMI Post
The majority of what is falling out is the seminal fluid and not the active sperm. They are known to leave the fluid and swim into friendly/fertile cervical mucus. The cm...will help the sperm travel their way through the cervix to the tubes.
If you are bding during infertile time periods, more will fall out because the cervix will be closed.
Just like shamrock said, if you have a post coital test you can determine whether your cm,...is sperm friendly or hostile.
You can improve cm...by increasing water, veggies, and fruit intake during O time. Staying away from acidic foods...during O time can help as well (caffeine, alcohol, animal protein, dairy etc).
If you are taking medication sometimes that can create hostile cm...and IUIs can be successful.

I'm a leaker too but we got PG pretty quickly. Even though you leak, the stronger spermies get to where they need to go.

I did it more for not wanting to stand up and let stuff fall out, and not wanting it all over me

You go in within an hour of having unprotected sex and they see how the sperm are. A friend of mine found out she was killing off her DH's sperm and that is why they weren't getting pregnant.

If you are going straight to IUI or IVF, they won't have you do this because you are bypassing the cervix anyway. If you are not using those assisted methods, they should have you do one as part of a diagnostic protocol. I think both an OB/GYN and RE will do this.

Re: Really REALLY TMI Post
The timing of the post coital does have to be perfect. You need to have intercourse during your fertile time ...to determine hostile sperm.
You can even look under a microscope....I know some ladies who do this themselves. (Fertility Friend chat has some interesting conversations lol)
You can also test the PH balance of your cm...
I know a woman, who has 6 boys. She tested the ph balance of her cm and it was alkaline, it's really interesting.
I am not sure if RSofNy ever administers this test....
