Really Stupid Hiccups Question
OK - I'll preface by saying that I know this is probably nothing but I have to ask.
DS never has the hiccups. Before today I can think of maybe two other times where I remember him having them. He never had them in utero either. Then all of a sudden today he gets them 3 separate times!!!! What the heck? Should I be concerned? He's 11 months.
TIA

Re: Really Stupid Hiccups Question
Did he eat a lot today? My ped told me that sometimes that is a sign of a well fed baby; sometimes a full abdomen will put pressure on the diaphragm and cause hiccups.
ETA: And, no, I wouldn't be concerned. This is coming from a mom whose baby had them at least 6x a day in utero and the same through infancy.

Re: Really Stupid Hiccups Question
I am going to guess here...
But i would say he is just fine. My DS was a hiccup KING those first few months. But now that i think about it, he does is on occassion now. But he has had it a few times in a day.
I don't think there is anything wrong

Re: Really Stupid Hiccups Question
I've heard its a sign they could be getting sick. I've noticed this happens with my DDs sometimes. I hope it's not in your case!

Re: Really Stupid Hiccups Question
well, he is a well fed baby. But I don't think he ate anymore today than normal.
And in terms of him getting sick, it is a distinct possibility because he has been on and off fever all week.
I'll see if it continues. Thanks ladies!
