REALLY stupid question
But I have to ask... how does the car seat go into a shopping cart?  We're taking our first trip to Target in a little while and I don't want to fumble around like a moron!

either in the basket part or you put the carrier in the seat part facing you. the hook on the carrier should snap into the wire back of the seat. Good luck!! Enjoy being out!

The front part that locks into the carseat base will lock on a bar on the shopping cart. When you lock the carseat on the cart bring the part that kids lean on in the cart forward to fit in the groove of the carseat. Use the release lever you use when the carseat is on the base to release from cart.

Being a nervous first time mommy, I never put her car seat on that top part. Her car seat book said not too as it would be unstable. I'd put her in the stroller and pull the wagon behind me or put the car seat in the big basket of the wagon.

I was always a nervous mommy. I never put the carrier up top on the cart. I always put him in the basket. It keeps you from buying a lot of food! 
I'm also only 5' 5" so I couldn't see over the carrier anyway!
