RECALL OF BIRTH CONTROL PILLS. (Update - if your pills aren't with you, you can still find out if they're recalled!)

Please do not have this moved to the Health board. (It's a pet peeve of mine when people say that, but IMO this should stay on the board that gets the most views!)

Mine is on it and my pack is at home so I can't check for another 7 hours. Oy vey.

Update for anyone that may be flipping out: if you don't have your pills on you, you can call your prescription provider and speak to an pharmacist. They have the Lot Number information in their systems. I get mine through the mail, so I called their call center and they patched me through to a pharmacist.

In my case, my pills were affected. However, I only started this new pack on Sunday and DH and I have not been active since prior to my last period. Hopefully, that works in our favor.

The prescription company is mailing me replacements.

Called my doctor, spoke with the nurse. She assured me that we should be fine based on the fact that we haven't been active in over a week and that I had my period, and she said that I probably haven't ovulated yet. Told me that the best thing to do is wait until my next period arrives to start a new pack.

So, for anyone who might not have their pills with them at the moment and might be freaking out - call your prescription provider.

What a HUGE eff up on the manufacturer's part. My hands are still sweaty and my tummy is in knots. All I can do is hope for the best.

I'm wondering how this is going to play out on the news.

I guarantee my mom is going to send me a least one article suggesting that it's either like a punishment for people sinning by using BC, or that it was done on purpose.

ok i sound dumb im sure but thats the list of bc that were effected right? I was on seasonique and im now on lo loestrin.. I guess im in the clear right? lol

Mine was on there so I called medco. The only part I could not find was the lot number.

I was a little concerned since I was on pack 2 of 3 because it is a 3 month supply.

I spoke with a pharmacist at Medco. they asked me to turn over the pack and there is a little silver part on the back that is supposed to say an expiration date. If there is an expedition date thane told me that it is fine for me to continue.

He told me if you could not see the expiration date than that could be one recalled.

Everyone should check with their pharmacist.

Aren't the placebo pills a different color than the other 21 pills? Wouldn't that make you question things before you even start the pack?
