Recent Huntington Hospital experiences?
Has anyone given birth at Huntington Hospital since they switched to Northwell Health? My dr mentioned that I now need to go in for pre-op testing the day before, but gave me zero details about it. Was wondering if anyone here had insight? Do I need an appt? How long and what do they do? Also, does anyone know if they still restrict visitors to those over age 12?

When did they switch? I delivered there in June 2013 and July 2015.

Recent Huntington Hospital experiences?
I just had plastic surgery there on Friday and they were amazing. You do need an apt for the pre op testing but they are so efficient and helpful and I was so pleased with my care that I am sure maternity is just as great. Overall it was one of the best hospital experiences I've had.

Thanks! Did you make the pre-op appt or did your dr do it for you? I feel like my dr is slacking on me

The hospital will call to make the pre-op appointment. Took about an hour total to do everything.

I gave birth there in Feb. the pre-op called to make appointment.. I had a good experience there overall

Thanks ladies. That makes me feel better. My dr can be a little forgetful with the details sometimes. About how far in advance did they call you? I'm scheduled for next Thurs...

Recent Huntington Hospital experiences?
My pre-op was a week before so they should be calling you today or tomorrow. They weren't really flexible with the time of the appointment, but it might have been because it was during the holiday weekend.
