Recipes printed off the internet...

Whats your filing system for recipes that you have printed off of the internet?

Mine is to stick them in between other cookbooks and when I go to look for them again, I can never find them, then when I am looking for something else...I find the one I was looking for!

Anyone have any good filing ideas?

I copy and paste the text into one central recipe document and keep it there as an electronic file.

I tape them into a marble notebook. Maybe someday I'll file in a 3 ring binder

Re: Recipes printed off the internet...

i have a file on my compt... but i usually just fold them and put them in my recipe book.... but if the recipe is really good and i know it is something i will want to make again, i re-write onto one of my recipe cards...

eta: i also have a 3-ring binder with those clear plastic sheets... maybe you can get one of those and just slip the recipe into the page protector...

I usually print them out and then put them into a folder next to all my other cookbooks.

3 ring binder. I have way too many, so I divided it into 2 books. It isn't just internet recipes, I put all of them in there.

3 ring binder as well. I try to keep the categorized, but it doesn't work too well. At least they are all in one place.

Re: Recipes printed off the internet...

I have a binder with a 3 hole punch and dividers. It's separated into sections - soups & appetizers, main courses, desserts, breakfasts and... something else, I think. I usually just throw things in there, but once in a while I'll actually punch holes in everything and organize it. It makes it SO much easier to go through and find what I'm looking for.

Re: Recipes printed off the internet...

I have a great computer program called Mastercook. I put all my recipes in it. You can download recipes directly from the internet and I also type in any I rip from magazines.

It has great features. You can easily search your recipes, you can cut a recipe in 1/2 or 1/4 or double if it needed. You can also get the nutritional value for a recipe.

It's awesome!

I have this too, however, I put mine in the vinyl/plastic sleeves so they don't get dirty or fall out.

Thanks for that, I got the Mastercook Programme, now I just have to figure out how to use it. There is a little icon on the right hand top of my screen, so I guess I click that and import my internet recipes into there. I am going to try it now!!! Thanks for the tip...

Let me know if you have any secrets on how to use it.

my MIL made me a cookbook out of the sticky photo album pages, so I just put my print outs and cut outs of recipes in there
