Recommend a car seat that is good for a toddler, compact to take on a plane and has good safety reviews
Hi everyone--I love my Britax carseat but we still need one for our second car. I believe that my seat has some reviews that say that it is a very tight fit on a plane. We will be going on a trip soon. I got a great deal on a car rental through a membershop that I have but the carseat rental would be almost the price of a carseat. In addition, I have heard that sometimes the car rental places forgert to hold one aside. I want to take a carseat on the plane and that may be the one we use ion our second car. Which one should I buy? I do not mind spending a bit more if it is the one we will use in the future.

Our Britax fits very well on the plane. We usually fly JetBlue.
Our seat for the second car is the Graco Nautilus which I really like. I feel it would also be a god seat to travel with. It becomes a booster later so limits the amount of seats you have to buy.

I have the Britax Roundabout and it fit without a problem on the plane. We used it to go to Florida and Minnesota and never had an issue.
ETA:
We flew Southwest and Delta.

Same here. We got the roundabout for this very reason. We've flown ALOT with it. No problems.

it was fine on the plane for us too...we have a marathon. B/c it is big, it wasnt as snug as in a car though

Thanks everyone. I was having trouble remembering which one I already have but I just checked the tag. It is a Roundabout and I think we should just get another Roundabout for our second car. I guess we should take the more worn out one with us instead of letting a brand new one go through the wear and tear of a trip.

Try looking at the Graco ComfortSport. It is a good second seat and able to go on planes nicely

Britax Roundabout for us too. I have flown cross country by myself with DS and that car seat and it was very easy to work with. I even got it strapped in so tight in the airplane seat that I had trouble getting it out!
