recommend a really great podiatrist?
Can someone recommend a great podiatrist? Preferably one that is a great diagnostician, familiar with all the "latest and greatest" things in foot medicine, and does surgery fairly regularly.
My feet are a mess... hideous bunions and my left heel has been screaming at me for months. Problem is, I have a very rare genetic condition, and the wrong treatments (both surgical and conservative) can make things much worse for me... I get that my condition is super uncommon, so don't expect doctors to know all about it right away... but I generally look for docs that are more than willing to read up on it and learn about it before deciding how to treat me... and those are usually the docs that are already up on the "latest and greatest" stuff in their field.
In Suffolk county, but willing to travel for someone really good.

Dr John Haight. He's affiliated with North Shore Manhasset and has an office in Valley Stream and somewhere else(don't recall). He's amazing he did my pinky toe surgery when I was 9 months pregnant. I was clipping my toe nails and pinched my skin which eventually resulted in a toe infection that he had to remove (a mess) but my toe looks brand new. They also do pedicures in the office.
