recommend a transition cup to try
Clover steals Roman's juice cups and drinks them (he is not happy about that) Anywho, I wanted to try a cup for her for her formula that I could also use later when she is off of the formula. She willl be 6 months.

Re: recommend a transition cup to try
I have the born free training cup. DS uses it and seems to have no problems. He is 6 1/2 mos but has been using it since 6mos. He just doesn't know how to tilt the bottle up yet...to get more juice.
I think I read somewhere that you shouldn't put babys formula in a cup, the cup should be for juice or water only for some reason does anyone else here know why??

Re: recommend a transition cup to try
I would try the Nuby straw cup. DD took to it right away which shocked me. She also started to steal DS's sippy cup (the nuby straw) at 6 months so I decided to her play with it one and and she actually drew up some juice.

Re: recommend a transition cup to try
I love all the nuby cups-
Ds has been taking a sippy since 6 months, the nuby was all he'd take when he was a baby..

Re: recommend a transition cup to try
okay, I'll try the Nuby. Roman hated every Nuby. Good to know about putting formula in the cup. I guess I won't do that. I don't want to give her juice now though. Anyone give their 6 month old juice?

Funny, I was going to post that you should put formula in the cup, but I didn't want to sound like a PITA
You could just give her water...or do water with a splash of juice.
DS had juice for the first time around 7 months when he had a cold.

I don't know my ped said to give DD BM or formula in the sippy cup - and not to give juice yet. But every ped is different

Re: recommend a transition cup to try
well, my ped recommended and I have read in several parenting mags and sites that you should put formula in the sippy so that baby gets used to it for when they transition to milk.
I put formula sometimes and water other time. I started juice with water at about 8 or 9 months. that said, DS will drink anything out of a sippy.

Re: recommend a transition cup to try
My DS wouldn't take a bottle (he is EBF). When I returned to work he was 3.5 months old....and my babysitter had a transitional sippy cup by NUK that he would drink from. It has a latex nipple and he gets BM in it. Image Attachment(s):
