recommend Nautical Mile Restaurant
Fh is taking me out on my B-day and I would like some really good seafood. Someplace nice, trying to avoid like a bar/pub feel. Oh and they need to be open on New Years day. TIA

Although it has a very nice bar, Hudson and McCoy might be what you have in mind. Love it there. Have fun

Nautlilus Cafe has amazing food, especially if you are looking for seafood! Hudson and McCoy is a steak house, although they do have seafood.

Re: recommend Nautical Mile Restaurant
I just wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions. We wound up going to 2 of the places. My parents took us to Rachels (because they weren't open on New Years day). Food was good, but I was disappointed they had no lobsters. Service was also sort of slow and there weren't that many people there.
On New Years day we went to Nautilus. FH and I both had the lobster. You can't really mess up lobster so it was hard to judge but the place was very nice and the service was great. We'll probably be going back here in the future.
Surprisingly I have lived on LI my whole life and have NEVER been to the Nautical mile. Looks like a fun place to hang out in the summer (although I am sure it get crowded), so we plan on visiting again.
