Recommend the best beaches/fields with a kid
I am not really an ocean beach person - I much prefer either a pool or my grandparents summer house on a lake. They are redoing some things to the summer house this year so I can't really go up there to use the beach. DS has been begging to go to the beach but I am not sure what is friendly. We are Town of Hempstead residents and i have a leisure pass but not an empire pass (but I would get one if need be). Where are the best places to go???

Hewlett Point Park - hands down!! TOH residents in E Rockaway. You don't have to pay for the kids until they're 5 and if you're a district resident it's $5/adult; non-district is $6/adult.
It's a bay beach so my three year old can wade almost all the way out and it's still just above his waist. There's a pool incl in the price - big pool and sprinkler/baby pool, plus a playground and there are even charcoal bbq's available.
We've been there 2x this week along - really recommended.
(FYI - the pool part does not open until June 18)

We have gone there and I forgot about that place - but every time we have gone there have been these huge bugs that bite us which really ruin the mood LOL!
